Amazon Read Online

Bought a book today on Amazon. After checkout, I was prompted with the above — for another $9.99, I could get electronic access to my book right away. Additionally, I could do the same for seven other books I had purchased in the past.

(And, yes, I have read “Code Complete” before, and discussed it here a couple times. But I needed seven more copies, because all Blend developers are going to study the book together throughout 2009. I’m totally excited about it.)

I'd like to here more about how you are going to study it together. I've got a group of maintenance developers that could benefit from something like that. In addition, do you guys do code reviews for either quality purposes or education purposes? We have some stubborn CMMI process that is beyond useless. I'm curious about something like SmartBear's CodeCollaborator.

I'd also like to hear how you're planning on working through the book with your team. We've started something similar over the past year, study groups led by engineers focusing on patterns, practices, etc.

I really like this idea. I prefer to read a paper book but the search functionality makes the digital book nice to have. For an additional $10 bucks I get both. For your development team, I would also recommend The Pragmatic Programmer.
