Google Base

Google Base Was Sort of Live: Oh crap — Google is finally making the inevitable play to own everything. The one, true universal database. Someone call Fabian.

Google Base is Google’s database into which you can add all types of content. We’ll host your content and make it searchable online for free.

Screenshots are here. Just looking at it is creepy. There’s an “all your base” joke in here somewhere. Related to this, read this post from Signal vs. Noise about how much Google already owns.

So let’s recap. Google…tracks all your TCP/IP packages [sic], reads all your email, follows all your surfing, owns all your cookies, knows your postings to usenet from 1981, keeps the drafts for future blog postings

Here's the part they quote:

Google temporarily caches cookies from third party sites that are used in your web requests.

So this automatically means they own all my cookies?

There’s an “all your base” joke in here somewhere.

That's easy:

"All of us are belong to Base."
