Google Toolbar and SmartTags

Google Toolbar 3 Released: The new version of the Google toolbar is out, and it has what could become a controversial feature.

With this feature enabled, certain unlinked web page information will turn to links automatically. The kind of text triggering this will be US addresses, Package Tracking Numbers, ISBNs, and Vehicle Identification Numbers. This is somewhat reminiscent of Microsoft’s Smart Tags, which they failed to introduce some years ago…

Web form spellcheck is nice too, but I have that with Spellbound.

"will turn to links automatically" where automatically is defined as "after the user decides she wants them to and clicks a button."
