I wish this was an April Fool’s post, but it’s not. CNN Money reports on the CXT, which is basically an attempt to turn a commercial dump truck into a 6MPG diesel grocery getter.
“It’s not going to fit into the standard garage,” said Mark Oberle, a spokesman for Navistar, based in Warrenville, Ill., outside Chicago. “We can see it as a vehicle for business people who want to make a distinct impression. For personal use, it’s for people who want to make a statement.”
If I ever see one of these at the mall or the grocery store, and it doesn’t have the logo of a construction company on it, I’ll be very tempted to make a statement myself, involving flat tires.
