New iMac?

Gizmodo had this snapshot of what is reportedly Apple’s new iMac G5. It’s supposed to be released next week, but somebody got a sneak peek in an elevator at Charles DeGaulle Airport. Looks to be little more than a thick flat panel monitor, with the computer’s guts tucked behind the screen.

I would think that would be an easy build — just use the basic parts from a laptop unit, wrap it with a spiffy new skin, jam in a G5 processor and the proper cooling mechanisms, and there you have it.

Drool.

too bad it isn't widescreen Apple are into widescreen, so that photo is not the real deal
