Clumsiest Scam Attempt. Ever.

The sad thing is, many people will fall for this:

Your credit card will be billed at $22.95 weekly and free 3 pack of child porn CD is shipping to your billing address. To cancel your membership and CD pack please email full credit card details to [deleted].

I got one of those this morning. I look at it this way: the people who will be ripped off by it are ones who think they're ordering child porn. If anyone deserves to get ripped off, I can't think of a better group.

I think the issue is not that pedophiles will give out their credit card number (the message implies they already have it).

The problem is that normal people -- outraged -- will reply to the address given in this bogus mail, which I understand to be the address of the good folks at Spamhaus.

Nate: FWIW, the addresses are being spoofed. I received one with a return address pointing to a completely different domain - a legitimate company, no less.

But you are correct - more than a few people will be tempted to reply, unfortunately.
