The Aquapolis: I’d be so much more impressed if the passage quoted here (from their “Overview” page) didn’t contain five spelling and grammatical errors.
“The Aquapolis will be the worlds first underwater resort. Built at a cost of $1.3 billion, Aquapolis will be unlike anything on earth. Using state of the art underwater construction techniques and safety systems, The Aqupolis will include a submarine complex with a wide range of facilities, a luxery hotel, spa, restaurants…”
They even misspelled the name of the resort at one point. Pictures look cool, though. Bonus points if you can point out all five errors (one of them is debatable, so I’ll take four).
I'm pretty addicted to the TV show "Lost." The first season has wrapped up and left some amazing cliffhangers. I finally got all the episodes watched (thanks BitLord), and I started looking around to see what was on the Web to hold me over until fall. It turns out…
Poseidon Undersea Resorts: This is my every nine-year-old dream come true. Currently in the final design stages, Poseidon will be the world's first sea floor resort complex. The resort will be a unique, intimate and exclusive, five-star destination providing the highest possible levels of luxury and service. Poseidon's guests will experience…
Numbers station : A post over at Boing Boing reminded me of the phenomenon of numbers stations. Numbers stations are shortwave radio stations of uncertain origin that broadcast streams of numbers, words, or phonetic sounds. No one knows for sure where their signals originate or what purpose they serve. The voices…
Lacuna Inc.: This is fake Web site built for the company at the center of the new movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It's like that I Robot Now thing, or the Aquapolis. A lot of work went into this, but when do you lift the curtain? …
Alexa Web Search — Data Services: You can get the entire contents of the Alexa index on disk. Probably several. "The world's largest crawl and massive archive is available. Imagine the entire contents of the world wide web... on disk." Dare you to run a SQL query on this baby, preferably…
I found 5...
Worlds first (should be World's first) sytems Aqupolis luxery restautrants
Man, this is embarrassing...
Two of those errors are mine. I mispelled "systems" and "restaurants," not them. The site is in Flash, so I had to re-type.
So you got three.
Isn't earth supposed to be capitalized?
The 'The' after the comma shouldn't be capitalized.
Yes, I had the "Earth" thing too. I'll let the "The" issue go because they're counting it as part of the name of the resort, so "The Aquapolis" becomes the entire proper noun.
okay, how about state-of-the-art. That one can go either way though.
That was the last one I had, though it could go either way.
Another case of poor web development and not-so-thorough platform testing; I can't get the javascript to launch to take me past the first page. I guess Mac owners need not apply.
Haven't you guys worked out that it ain't real? It's part of this weird Matrix online game thing. If you have no idea what I'm on about, go to www.metacortech.com and search for AndersonThomas. (a.k.a, Neo)
