A while back we talked about a grilled cheese sandwich with the image of the Virgin Mary on it, which sold for $28,000 on Ebay. Today I heard a story on the radio about Miles Bradley, an antique dealer in Chamberlain, SD — just down the road a piece — who found a Wheat Thin cracker with a likeness of Elvis’ head on it. Or so some say. I just don’t see it. Bradley tried to repeat the grilled cheese success & cash in on his find by selling it on eBay.
Apparently I wasn’t the only one who failed to see The King on the cracker. (Take a look at the pictures on the auction site & let me know what you think.) The bidding failed to break the $500 reserve price, and the auction closed with a high bid of $451. The disappointed Bradley is reportedly going to give it another shot, but if it doesn’t break the $500 reserve this time, he’s gonna eat it. He probably should’ve done that to begin with.
If it were me, after going to the trouble of listing it on Ebay, I would’ve taken the $451 and run.
