Following up on Torrent Shutdowns: Slashdot has posted a bit on SuprNova being shutdown. What I found interesting were the comments: they are generally very anti-SuprNova, very pro-copyright. An example:
Furthermore, this is exactly what should be happening: the government attacks those who break the law, rather than those who create the tools. Bit torrent and p2p applications have legal, useful purposes; by seeking those who use them in illegal ways rather than banning them altogther is appropriate, rather than trying to ban them.
I find this odd (notice I said “odd,” not “wrong”) for a site like Slashdot.
A few weeks ago I got hooked on the ABC series "Lost". Of course that happened after the season was well under way, which has led to a secondary addiction to BitTorrent sharing so that I could catch the episodes I'd missed. Yesterday, SuprNova shut things down — seemingly for good…
